The disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi is hitting the Saudi economy.
Stocks plunged almost 7 percent in early trading on Sunday, wiping out all the gains it had made since the start of the year.
The fall comes a day after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened 'severe punishment' if Saudi Arabia was found to be responsible for Khashoggi’s disappearance, but Riyadh warned it would retaliate if economic sanctions are imposed on it.
As pressure mounts on Saudi Arabia, several U.S. media organisations and business leaders have pulled out of a major investment conference in Riyadh
What was dubbed "Davos in the desert" is supposed to promote Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's reform vision for the Kingdom.
So, where does that leave all his plans?
Presenter: Imran Khan
Khalid Al Khater, economist and researcher at the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the University of Cambridge

Ben Salman's attitude and irresponsible involvement in the disappearance of the Saudi Washington columnist, Jamal Khashoggi will definitely bring the Saudi economy to its knees and will drive away many Western investment!
I stand by my intuitive outlook for future of Kingdom. First of all these out look is several years old as per my intuition and these two numbers were observed by me during meditation on Saudi Arabia name. First one is #33 which is about the Crown Prince who took over the first in line to the throne title in his 33rd year of his life and the second number that appeared as an image in my meditative mind is 2019. I see a very turbulent year as it relates to the year 2019. There will be uprising against the King and his son by fundamentalist forces with the help of insiders who are quietly putting together a force to remove the present rulers since he broke the tradition on succession of King in case of his death. The Crown Prince is under excessive amount of psychological stress from outside and internal forces which might push him away from Western supporters and force him to seek refuge under Russian led alliance. The last two lines of this paragraph are just my personal view and not intuitive opinion. I am not a psychic but focus on meditative intuitive answers on various topics such as natural disasters, international Geo politics, internal politics of various nations which are either located in an area which is strategically going to play major role to counter the nations which are either engaged in expansionist goals or sponsoring terror groups.
Think: do you buy any product made in Saudi Arabia? Phones? Office machines? Car parts? Of course not, bc. it is not a real economy. Like Russia, Saudi is just a crime family enterprise, and only a fool would buy Russian or Saudi stocks. Even if you live there.
Naeem Aslam has an unusual accent. Within each sentence, he uses a British accent for some words, and his original accent for other words, sort of alternating the two. It's kind of distracting, but he also speaks slowly and clearly, so he's easy for a native English speaker to understand. I guess he's in the process of mutating into a Londoner. I feel sorry for him.
Why does this news anchor not just say that Saudi has not invested their oil money wisely because they are lazy and know nothing off infrastructure and building because under the façade they are still Arabs . When I worked building there city not one Arab Muslim worked on any jobs all to bizzy doing nothing so no training there then . they did not do the gold leafing that was a British and German Trade Compy . Another is spending money on Fighting wars the British and Americans sold them £BILLIONS of Arms all state of the art and they did not know how to use them so it cost more to train them . Know they wonder where the money goes maybe they should get a American and British accountants to do that job for them LOL
Those hideous costumes the men wear have nothing to do with with the stock market. I am just voicing my opinion that it is hard for ME to take somebody dressed with a dish towel hat topping off a bathrobe seriously. Lots of these men are intensely intelligent too. I know its their TRADITION like the Quran.
No democracy no investment. Saudi Arabia is a problem in the middle east. It will destroy itself by its own stupid moves. America cannot have double standards. I agree Saudi Arabia is a bad investment this government does not seem it will last for more than year.
Allow for domestic discourse? ...in a country that still conducts public beheadings!? The writing's on the wall, with this planet in an extreme crisis of global warming, the Saudi's time is up and they know it. They only have oil which is a cancer to Mother Earth.
...before long they'll be an insignificant nomadic tribe of wife beaters that no one cares about.
Saudis should stop selling oil in USD. What has disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi got to do with Trump and others. Perhaps Saudi Arabia do not need American protection in regards to Israel. Saudis should revisit Henry Kissengers, Nixons globalist sidekick agreement.
U.S. knew in advance this was a trap. What does this say about behind the scenes deals with the devil ? This could have been handled in the U.S. Also, military officials complicit with the civilian blockade of Yemen should be prosecuted . Bolton should be put on an Interpol list to arrest and charged with War Crimes . Mattis as well. Americans need to step in if no one else goes after these criminals.
Hmmm, suspicion of Arms of mass destruction was enough for the USA to meddle in Iraq. But it's a shame that the Saudis have been tolerated because they buy a lot of weapons. And the fact that they have a common border with Syria, but did not take any Syrian Refugees. Given no hope to the Refugees, other than travel west.
Ode to President Trump, He's absolutely correct, without USA support the ruling leaders of Saudi Arabia will loose their heads in a couple of weeks. Lets hope there's justice for butchering all those civilians in Yemen.
Since they are head of running Saskatchewan's wheat...I'm guessing, I'll be paying more for flour! Amazing since they're filthy rich..yet grow no food...much less anything else...they import everything...just major consumers! 👎☯️🙊🙉🙈✔
The Main problem is not saudi arabia , who brain washed the mind of king salman and his governemnt that is only UAE . this country should punished severly beacuse these people and thier nationals against the humanity . in this country every law against the mulim law .their national taking huge amount from a labour in the name visa to stay in the country that poor man sale his every thing in country and giving them the money and after that they again demanding the money they are not able to pay they put them in jail and deport from the country they left for them only one option that is sucide. Kafala system actully it is slavery system. INSHALLHA GOD will destroy them with thier takbur. they are thinking all human beings are thier slaves Please see this video in youtube ( Shaikh eissa beating afghani ) eissa is the brother of crown prince of UAE .but unfortuantely this video it is leaked. this people thinking they are the God. it is normal for them like this killing of human every day in thier life in thier palace and out side. any house maids who is working in their house they not them leave without brutal rap first raping father after raping their sons , in one house and even not giving them salaries , your can chak regarding this embassy of Srilanka , Filipin , Indonesia , Ethopia , they are black mark and eval nations in this world. united nation and human right organization use less because they not taking any action against human violation in UAE.
To me it looks somehow unbelievable , the house of saud didn’t find a location other than it’s own embassy to carry out what the did ? They got the necessary funds to do it why did they make it very noticeable , rather they are extremely stupid or something else is going on or they simply feel untouchable.
The Saudi "royal" family is grossly out of touch with reality. Their posh lifestyle and being isolated from reality has made them unfit to rule. Possibly kidnapping, murdering and dismembering a respected foreign journalist is obviously the dumbest thing you can do, and the crown prince obviously isn't very smart.
“ fake news “
I hate Qatar 🇶🇦 to the death. They spread lies and misinformation in the Arabic channel. They also support terrorism in the Middle East and accuse others. Stop paying and funding terrorists to spread terrorism in the Arabs world. Allah will punish you sooner or later.
Everything else said here is true and without bias. But it appears Al Jazeera is capitalizing on the issue of Khashoggi which provides innuendos of the control of the Qatari government over its own network. Yes, it is State owned but it too obvious recently that the network is on the frontline to push the agenda over the international stage. Qataris turn to upend Saudis if I may say. But really, all the guests here is accurately and factually precise in their assessments. Saudis need radical liberty and openness domestically and internationally to show itself ready to accept investments.
American government know much of sauudi ctimes against human beings. ( u. K.. Ametica.. I love how the murder of a journalist is what is causing the backlash...... Not the genocide that Saudi Arabia has been carrying out in Yemen for the last few years..... No... all these businesses were just fine with that (probably because it has American backing and support)..... but now a journalist has been murdered and that's the final straw?
But its what these sick creatures do: Its strange the west who have turned a blind eye, to the evil they do, just as they do with Israel, is now making a pretend stand, there is obviously something a lot deeper going on here:
I am praying to God almighty that this trigger running away from oil investments and into solar panels, electric cars, off the gridd infrastructures and local economies - please investors invest into self sufficiency and send strong message to human right abuses
Saudi insist he left embassy..front cameras showed nothing..why don't they show video of him walking away back entrance..its been 13 days now..turkey now say they have video and audio proof of him being murdered ?
Saudi Arabia is not a real economy. They produce nothing, not even oil. Oil is pumped out by foreign engineers. SA is just a private real estate plot rented out by the Al Saud family. Said family are just a sloppy mob of psychopaths.
Uploading contracts to an online database should not take too long, and with the right solution, there should be a way to quickly drag and drop them into folders. Of course, the contract management team may want to give some thought as to how those folders are categorized. In some industries, it may make sense to classify them by agreement type, whereas in others they may need to be grouped by timeframe or date. It is obviously important to do what makes sense for your company and to ensure everyone understands the classification system that is instituted. With this sort of well-oiled system in place, it is a lot easier to keep a handle on things.
Divide and Conquer.
This is another area that is very industry-dependent, but it is highly unlikely that any company can afford to have an entire contract team devoted to managing one portfolio. More than likely, it is more realistic to divvy up the team and the contracts so that there is a leader for each relevant sphere. The entire team will obviously have to coordinate and communicate, but resources must be allocated in the most efficient manner possible. In turn, this will allow for several individuals to keep an eye on a smaller batch of contracts, thereby facilitating those periodic reviews.
