SILVER MINER STOCK ANALYSIS PAN AMERICAN SILVER - STOCK TO WATCH

What do I do? Full-time independent stock market analyst and researcher: https://sven-carlin-research-platform.teachable.com/p/stock-market-research-platform Check the comparative stock list table on my Stock market research platform under curriculum preview! I am also a book author: Modern Value Investing book: https://amzn.to/2lvfH3t More about me and some written reports at the Sven Carlin blog: https://svencarlin.com Stock market for modern value investors Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/modernvalueinvesting/ Silver is up – Pan American Silver corporation PAAS Silver is slightly up which is interesting from a mining perspective. I’ll analyse Pan American silver to continue with our sector analysis. The article ends with a comparative table of the miners analysed up till now. Last month I discussed how silver looks like an interesting risk reward hedge to whatever might happen in the future, from loose monetary policy to even increased industrial demand. I have discussed some silver miners that also represent interesting investing opportunities so today I’ll first give a short update on silver and continue with my discussion on a few silver miners. Silver is up a bit In the last month silver prices increased from $16 to the current $17 which might not seem much but it is for silver miners as every dollar increase in prices is pure pre-tax profit for them. Silver is up on higher inflation expectation, more geopolitical turmoil but we must keep in mind that silver prices are volatile and one never knows where those will go in the short term. Let’s continue to look at silver miners to see if the risk reward opportunities are better than with physical silver. Pan American Silver Corp (NASDAQ: PAAS) What first nice about PAAS is the cash mining costs below $5 and all-in sustaining costs of $10.79 that should allow for significant cash flows and profits. There is also a 0.8% dividend yield which is not bad for a hedge.

PAN AM CLIPPER NEW HORIZONS 1977 ROUND THE WORLD FLIGHT 34544

22:38
The 50th anniversary of Pan American Airlines (Pan Am) and a record-setting flight are celebrated in this 1977 film. The film opens with a narration of man’s desire to explore the globe — first by sea and later by air — most notably Wiley Post (mark 00:45) who was the first pilot to fly solo around the world in his Lockheed Vega aircraft, the Winnie Mae, in 1933. In 1947 the first around-the world passenger service was inaugurated in a Lockheed Constellation made for Pan Am. At mark 01:13 we see a Boeing 747SP-21 named Clipper Liberty Bell, which broke the commercial around-the-world record. Then, in 1977, we learn how Pan American Clipper New Horizons departing on a record-setting flight around the world over both poles (mark 02:13). It’s that flight that is the basis of the film as move to celebratory scenes at San Francisco International Airport on October 28, 1977, as “Flight 50” prepares for its 26,000 mile journey. With passengers onboard, the Clipper New Horizons taxis down the runway (mark 05:10) and takes ff exactly 50 years after Pan Ams first flight. The camera walks the cabin as the narrator explains the great demand for tickets and the company’s marketing director details the planning that went into the flight. The trip included an onboard fashion show (mark 07:23) and champagne toast as the aircraft circles the North Pole. The flight is welcomed in London (mark 08:56) and following a ceremony sets off for Capetown, South Africa as passengers are shown playing game, writing postcards, reading, watching movies (including “Casablanca” and “Road to Morocco”), and dining. A huge crowd welcomes passengers after their arrival in Capetown (mark 13:00) and following a ceremony with the city’s mayor the aircraft is back in the air. It crosses the South Pole as the camera captures snow-covered Antarctica below (mark 14:50). Despite rain in Auckland, New Zealand (mark 16:00) the passengers receive another warm welcome including traditional greetings and entertainment before embarking on the journey’s final leg. Passengers share their thoughts with the camera before finally touching down in San Francisco at mark 20:00. In 1976, the same aircraft seen in this film, made a similar around-the-world flight under the command of Captain Walter H. Mullikan, the airline’s chief pilot. That flight set a new speed record for a flight around the world, eastbound, and three speed records for commercial airline routes. The flight shown in the film used the same 747SP on the circumnavigation, but this time it was crossed both the North and South Poles. Renamed Clipper New Horizons, 21025 set a record on that flight as well, with a total flight time of 54 hours, 7 minutes, 12 seconds. Pan American sold its fleet of Boeing 747SPs to United Airlines in 1986. 21025 was re-registered N143UA to reflect its new ownership. After twenty years, 21025 was removed from service in 1995 and placed in storage at Ardmore, Oklahoma. It was scrapped in 1997. The airliner had accumulated 78,941 total flight hours on its airframe (TTAF) with 10,733 cycles. PAN AM AIRLINES INTRODUCES THE BOEING STRATOCRUISER 49964

24:54
This exciting promotional film for Pan Am's new "double deck Clipper", the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser, was made in the last 1940s as the airplane entered worldwide service. Although the film is extremely persuasive about the aircraft's capabilities, the 377 was a disappointment for Boeing with only 55 aircraft plus prototype built before its production was cancelled. The plane suffered from a poor safety record (including a crash-landing at sea in the Pacific documented elsewhere on our Youtube channel) and 11 out of the 56 aircraft produced were lost in accidents through 1960. The film includes some rare footage from Pan Am's history (including some awkward model shots of early aircraf) beginning at the 8:00 mark. The Consolidated Commodore Flying Boat is seen at 8:30, and the Sikorsky S-42 Brazilian Clipper is seen at 8:50. Check out the shots of the swimsuit-clad men removing the plane's landing gear! The China Clipper Martin M-130 is seen at 9:23 and the Boeing 307 at 9:30. The Boeing Model 307 Stratoliner was the first commercial transport aircraft to enter service with a pressurized cabin. The Boeing 314 is seen at 9:50, and the Douglas DC-4 at 9:58 as well as a Lockheed Constellation or Connie. The Boeing B-17 "Buck Shot" is seen at the 10:58 mark followed by the B-29 and B-50 aircraft. The film includes footage of trans-Atlantic routes, and a trip to Brazil and Hawaii by Pan American. The Boeing 377 Stratocruiser was a large long-range airliner developed from the C-97 Stratofreighter military transport, a derivative of the B-29 Superfortress. The Stratocruiser's first flight was on July 8, 1947. Its design was advanced for its day; its innovative features included two passenger decks and a pressurized cabin, a relatively new feature on transport aircraft. It could carry up to 100 passengers on the main deck plus 14 in the lower deck lounge; typical seating was for 63 or 84 passengers or 28 berthed and five seated passengers. The Stratocruiser was larger than the Douglas DC-6 and Lockheed Constellation and cost more to buy and operate. Its reliability was poor, chiefly due to problems with the four 28-cylinder Pratt & Whitney Wasp Major radial engines and their four-blade propellers. Only 55 Model 377s were built for airlines, along with the single prototype. The Boeing 377 Stratocruiser was a civil derivative of the Boeing Model 367, the Boeing C-97 Stratofreighter, which first flew in late 1944. William Allen, who had become President of The Boeing Company in September 1945, sought to introduce a new civilian aircraft to replace reduced military production after Second World War.[4] Although in a recession in late 1945, Allen ordered 50 Stratocruisers, spending capital on the project without an airline customer.[5] On November 29, 1945 Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) became the launch customer with the largest commercial aircraft order in history, a $24,500,000 (equivalent to $322,600,000 in 2015) order for 20 Stratocruisers. Earlier in 1945 the Boeing C-97 had flown from Seattle to Washington, D.C. nonstop in six hours and four minutes; with this knowledge, and with Pan Am President Juan Trippe's high regard for Boeing after their success with the Boeing 314 Clipper, Pan Am was confident in ordering the expensive plane. As the launch customer, Pan Am was the first to begin scheduled service, from San Francisco to Honolulu in April 1949. At the end of 1949 Pan Am, BOAC and American Overseas Airlines (AOA) were flying B377s transatlantic, while Northwest Orient Airlines was flying in the United States; in January 1950 United began flights from San Francisco to Honolulu. The last flight of the 377 with United was in 1954, the last with BOAC was in 1959, and the last Northwest was in September 1960. By November 1960 only a weekly Pan Am Honolulu to Singapore flight remained, and the 377 was retired by Pan Am in 1961. Gold Nuggets In Every Pan! Ultimate Placer Deposit!

09:21
Another gold mining adventure! Ten pans all will good sized gold nuggets, picker and flakes! Good chunky placer gold is found in the creek and banks up to 3 meters out of the creek. The creek is in a canyon which is a 400 meter long hike and 200 meters in elevation hike. The area has minimal workings however there are several showings on the other side of the mountain which we have claims on. Could they be associated?? We are hoping to find the source maybe a huge gold quartz vein?? We believe the source of the gold is very close as most if the gold is in nugget form. Chunky gold can be seen in most pans along with black sand (magnetite and hematite). In the video we do ten pans only in this area. We will be exploring this area further and hope to eventually find a bedrock exposure or vein which is producing the gold. Hope everyone enjoys the video and stay tuned for more! PAN AM AIRLINES WINGS TO JAMAICA 1960s TRAVELOGUE MOVIE 59874

27:54
Dating to the 1960s, this Pan American World Airways’ travel film "Wings To Jamaica" highlights the tropical country and promotes the island’s tourism. The film opens with shots of scenic beaches and turquoise waters, over which a Pan Am jet flies on its descent to Jamaica. A variety of terrain (01:43), including beaches, mountains, and waterfalls, dominate Jamaica. Hotels offer luxury accommodations (02:25) on white sandy beaches (02:55). With views of the water, the accommodations along the north shore of the island are great for honeymoons as well as return visits. Hotels provide music (03:59) and elegant food to enhance the stay, and endless water activities await those who prefer to not lounge in the sun day after day. Jamaica is small enough to get around and explore, making it easy for tourists to drive around the island with minimal effort, visiting places like the Blue Lagoon (05:53) and tiny villages (06:13; 11:55) with vibrant colors and culture. Kingston (06:44) is the capital and largest city in Jamaica, where vendors sell coconuts (07:11) and artists (07:50) paint portraits on the bustling city streets. Students study at the University of West Indies (08:18), and the island’s original capital, Spanish Town (08:35), offers a glimpse of the old colonial dominance. Other places to visit are the Anglican Cathedral (08:57) and the Port Royal fortress (09:42). A water wheel on a sugar plantation (10:09) is a testament to the sugar empires that dominated the island a century before, but sugar is still the island’s most important agricultural product (11:30). Mining bauxite (10:44) and exporting bananas (11:40) are two of Jamaica’s other major industries. Bananas are transported down river on rafts, which are also used for rafting excursions down the Rio Grande (12:17). Visitors to Jamaica can discover an elegant nightlife with fine dining at a mountain inn, followed by entertainment (15:20) consisting of dancing and limbo (16:00). Swimming is the most widespread activity, between all the hotel pools and the sea. Tourists can explore the sea on glass bottom boats (19:32), snorkeling, sailing, deep sea fishing, and water skiing. Tennis is also a common pastime, as is golfing on a former sugar plantation (20:30). Another favorite activity is going to Jamaica’s horse races (21:03). However, there are more than just horse races: donkey and goat races (21:12) entertain spectators as well. People shop for handicrafts in the Straw Market (23:06) in Ocho Rios, looking to take home hats, bags, perfume, coffee, and rum. Jamaicans make the rum barrels used to store the drink (23:36), but the barrels are also used as percussion instruments (23:58). Music and dance is a common thread in Jamaica—locals play music as a fire dancer performs (24:20) on the beach. The film concludes with a few more shots of waterfalls and rivers, which provide a moment of paradise for Jamaica’s visitors. Savana Pan-American Mineral Jig and Trommel Assembly

02:39
The mineral jig or gravity concentrator has constantly evolved to become the most commonly used method in the recovery of valuable minerals. The popularity of the mineral jig is due to their high rates of recovery, low operational costs and ease of use. Mineral jigs are used both in the primary and secondary stage to recover values that have been liberated from the host. Feed slurry is evenly distributed into the hutch which consists of a moving slurry bed located above a mesh screen and is subjected to a pulsating motion and upward hutch water flow which alternately causes dilation and compaction. The pulsation can be caused by a diaphragm (Pan-American style) or by mechanical movement of the screen such as the Hemispherical Concentrator. The separation of values occurs as the mineral bed is repeatedly moved up by the water, expands, and then resettles, the resettlement occurring with the water flowing down at a lower rate than that which occurred on the upstroke. This pattern of motion is commonly known as the sawtooth wave pattern and is ideal for mineral recovery. A ragging material of a specific gravity such as our polymer ragging balls for diamonds and gemstones or round steel shot for fine gold recovery assists in secondary separation. Specified ragging results in the values passing through the ragging and screen into the hutch where they are further processed, while the low specific gravity particles are discharged.

Copper for the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am & Parapan Am Games from Barrick Zaldívar in Chile

03:56
Located in Chile’s Atacama Desert, Barrick’s Zaldívar mine supplied the copper used to forge the bronze medals for the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games. But the mine is so much more than its metal — it’s about people like Priscila Calibar and Juan Carlos Morales, who bring their commitment to excellence, safety, teamwork and community each and every day. It’s about family. It’s about the communities that the mine supports through cultural and athletic programs. The Pan American Mine Exploration

06:07
Spent a couple hours exploring the Pan American Mine near Pioche, Nevada. The mine was, as far as I could determine, a zinc mine with smaller amounts of silver and gold being mined there as well. Its last production period was in the early 1980s. The mine has been abandoned since. Unfortunately, the entire mine has filled up with water in the intervening years making the workings inaccessible for the most part. Access to the mine is through two inclined portals and a vertical shaft. The site also has structures and buildings still standing. The tailings from this mine are quite large and substantial, and they confirm that the mine was mined using the room-and-pillar mining technique.
Spoil Sports vs. the Pan Am Games

00:16
From July 10th to July 26th, 2015 -- from the Opening Ceremonies to the Closing Ceremonies -- MISN spent hours with folks waiting in line for Pan Am Games events doing a guerrilla street theatre intervention to let them know a little bit more about the Canadian mining company supplying the materials for the gold, silver, and bronze medals. Spoil Sports expressed all of the complicated emotions that we've all been feeling about the Pan Am Games, and Smear Leaders gave out bottles of water "straight from Barrick Gold's mines" to crowds gathering outside the Rogers Centre. Well, they tried to... nobody seemed to want to drink our water. We wonder why! Gold Claw Pocket Pan First Look!

11:49
Today the postie was kind. He dropped off the package sent to me by Klint and Ken of Gold Claw. I got the great opportunity to talk to each of them about their product and the future of mining. Its companies like Gold Claw that are the future of our hobby. Its hard to full put into words, or for that matter even a video, of just how cleaver and good these products are. I am a firm believer of a time and place for all equipment, this pan wont fully replace the tried and tested old style, hell I find it rather therapeutic just panning down slowly, but when it comes to gold retention and speed you'll be hard pressed to compete with the claw. This package came with not only a BLUE pan (replacing my pink one) but a clear one which I will be able to use to show you some of the science behind the design but also the pocket pan. This pocket pan is what originally intrigued me when I saw the kick starter campaign, the possibility's that ran through my head when I saw it!!! This is not a review, more just a look into the pan and I even get to pan down the 1oz of paydirt that came with the kit. Next step, get it on the creek! Alluvial Gold Prospecting - How to Use a Gold Pan Like an Oldtimer

13:18
HOW TO USE A GOLD PAN LIKE AN OLDTIMER Gidday. Over the last 2 years, I have received many requests to upload an instructional video about Gold Panning. It's been a long time coming and for that I apologise. The technique described in this video is exactly as it was taught to me many years ago, by a fair-dinkum third generation Goldminer. His technique had been passed down by his Grandfather. Up till that stage I had been panning for several years, with varying degrees of success; but my technique was very slow and time consuming. From the moment I saw this technique, my prospecting ways were revolutionised and I never looked back. I have broken this technique into 4 easy to understand stages and present it as such in this video. I must emphasise that this is not the only way to Pan; there are many ways to Pan and this is just one technique of many. Enjoy, Share, comment and Subscribe... Aussie. Sluicing one ounce of gold. (High Banking, How long?)

18:09
Let me show you how long it takes to sluice or high bank one ounce of gold. In this video I demonstrate high banking on a good claim and show how long it would take to get one ounce of gold. I use a sluice powered by a water pump away from the river, known as a high banker. The ground here is good but no where near as good as the ground I used to demonstrate panning one ounce of gold. For gold panning I was able to be right at the river's edge, but because of rules here in British Columbia (BC) we can not discharge dirty water back into the river, so we have to have a settling pond away from the river. Thus I have to go to lesser ground for this demonstration of recovering one ounce of gold using a high banker sluice. For my high banker setup I am using gold owl mats. Supplied by Mark from Gold Stream Placer Supplies in Grand Prairie, BC. I made a couple mistakes in the sluice box setup where it went out of level for a bit. And I was running a high banker a bit too hot for a while with too much angle and too much water. But we still got good gold recovery in the highbanker mats. This video is produced by Dan Hurd, Prospector, Miner, Teacher and YouTuber, as part of his YouTube channel based on educational videos about gold mining, gold panning, prospecting, rock hounding, and mineral collecting.
