These International Dividend ETFs Are Cheap Cheap Cheap

07:10
https://goo.gl/QPCkqk - Start earning with binary options like millions of traders do Worries about the slowing global economy and stock valuations have many investors running from the markets recently- especially when it comes to growth and momentum stocks. The tech-heavy PowerShares QQQ (Nasdaq:QQQ) is down heavily from its recent peaks. However, the recent sell-off of stocks has presented some opportunities for investors looking to put money to work. One of them could international dividend stocks. Offering cheaper valuations than many of their U.S. peers- along with higher dividend yields- international dividend stocks could be a great buy in today’s current marketplace. For investors, shifting a portion of their portfolio to these stocks couldn’t be easier. Looking Across The Pond While funds like the $11 billion Vanguard High Dividend Yield Index ETF (ARCA:VYM) have become popular destinations for investors looking for yield, investors may want to break out their passports. International stocks offer some of the best dividend values. Foreign firms have traditionally held a more dividend-friendly culture, paying them to shareholders rather than keeping them as retained earnings. Average payout ratios for international firms are around the 35-45% range. This compares to the average 25% for U.S. stocks. That results in higher dividend yields. The international developed market benchmark MSCI EAFE index is currently paying 2.54%. That compares to just 1.86% for the S&P 500. Some nations- like Australia and the United Kingdom- have yields in excess of 4%. What’s more is that the EAFE is currently trading for a much lower price-to-earnings ratio than the U.S. only benchmark. That higher dividend yield and value has made international dividend payers a powerful total return element for a portfolio. According to Zurich's Credit Suisse (NYSE:CS) that combo has typically resulted in the best returns when looking at gains in 12 countries over the last 22 years. Some of those better returns can be attributed to currency gains. While the greenback has been on a tear lately, the long-term decline in the dollar has helped pad returns. As these dividends are paid in euros, loonies, krona and yen, and then translated into dollars, investors can receive a higher payout as the dollar falls. This allows investors to enter into a quasi currency arbitrage transaction. Making a swath of international dividend payers more important than ever. Picking-up Some International Dividend Flair Given the potential value to be had in the various international dividend payers, investors may want to tilt their portfolios in that direction. A prime way is through the iShares International Select Dividend ETF (NYSE:IDV). The ETF tracks 101 different international dividend payers- including Paris-based telecom giant Orange (Nasdaq:ORAN) and Rome's energy titan ENI (NYSE:E). Overall, IDV’s portfolio spans the developed world and includes some exposure to Singapore and Hong Kong. Expenses for the ETF run a cheap 0.50% and yields a h

Two Optimized Dividend ETFs for Income Seekers

03:18
As the U.S. anticipates greater rate risk ahead for the fixed-income markets, more income-minded investors are steering towards dividend stocks and dividend ETFs to bolster yield generation. "A lot of advisors are really sort of in a pickle trying to find income when it comes to high levels of income for their advisory - their end users, and what we're seeing is that a lot of advisors are really moving outside the more traditional fixed income portfolios and finding yields elsewhere," Lance McGray, Managing Director and Head of ETF Product at Advisors Asset Management, said at the Inside ETFs 2018 conference. In response to the ongoing demand for yields, Advisor Asset Management recently rolled out the AAM S&P 500 High Dividend Value ETF (NYSEArca: SPDV) and the AAM S&P Emerging Markets High Dividend Value ETF (NYSEArca: EEMD).

They are a clunky product and difficult to follow and understand, they are not easy to buy or sell, and worst of all - they charge large management fees - usually in the range of 1% to 3%. Typically for a Mutual Fund, you work with a financial adviser to pick out "the best fund for you" - but in reality, you're picking out the best fund for them as they get a commission depending on what fund you end up making an investment in. Those high management fees are fees that they get a cut out of - so they will almost always push mutual fund products onto you even if it isn't the best investment for you. What I also don't like about Mutual Funds like I mentioned, is that when you want to buy it, it usually takes a day or two to process. Same with selling it - and in this day and age - there's no reason to go down that route at all! This is where ETF's come in to save the day - specifically VOO. ETF's provide you the same exposure (or better) than a mutual fund can, but offer much less management fees - saving you hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands over your investment career. ETF's are able to be traded just like stocks - you can buy and sell them at any time that the market is open, and you instantly have exposure to the ETF. This ETF we're talking about today, VOO ETF, is one that Vanguard offers and is one that I believe is the best ETF for any investor because the management fee is 0.04%, it has enough liquidity that you can buy/sell at any time, and it's a simple product that tracks the S&P 500. If you believe the top 500 companies in the US will succeed and grow even bigger over the long term, there's no better investment on that bet than to go with VOO. Now, VTI has also come as a close runner up to this - which is another ETF offered by Vanguard. VTI encompasses the total market, and gives you exposure to something like 2000 stocks - including small caps, medium caps, and large cap stocks. If you feel that the exposure to the S&P 500 isn't enough, and you want exposure to all companies in the US that are publicly traded, the Vanguard VTI ETF is the way to go - as this also only offers a management fee of 0.04% - absolutely amazing. I hope this clears things up on why ETF's are a better investment tool than Mutual Funds, and I hope this video helps save you even $1 - because that is my goal here - to save you money! I also have a very interesting story to share of a recent visit that I had with my local bank and financial adviser. 5 Mistakes Investors Make with ETFs | Fidelity

04:43
In this video, learn about the five biggest mistakes that investors make when buying ETFs, or exchange-traded funds. To learn the basics about ETFs, visit https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/investment-products/etf/overview. To get started investing with ETFs, visit https://www.fidelity.com/etfs/overview To see more videos from Fidelity Investments, subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/fidelityinvestments Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fidelityinvestments Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/fidelity Google+: https://plus.google.com/+fidelity LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fidelity-investments --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let’s talk about the five biggest mistakes investors can make when buying exchange-traded funds. ETFs can be good tools for investors - when used appropriately. But with any investment, there are always things to watch out for. Number 1: Buying the Hot New Thing More than 100 new ETF products launch each year, many of them chasing the latest hot trend. Cloud computing, driverless cars, 3-D printing … you name it, there’s an ETF for that. Buying into the latest hot theme might make you big returns, but take care: These product launches may come after there has been a run up in the market. Buying at the top can be painful on the way down. Number 2: Buying Something You Don’t Understand The only thing worse than chasing the hottest trend is buying something you don’t understand. ETFs have taken institutional strategies and made them push-button-easy for everyday investors to access. Want access to commodity futures? There’s an ETF for that. 300% leverage? 200% short? Interest-rate carry plays? Yes to all. But just because you can buy something easily doesn’t mean you should. All of these funds may be good tools, but only if you know how to use them correctly. Number 3: Thinking All ETFs Are Created Equal Consider China. At the start of 2014, there were more than a dozen broad-based China ETFs. For example, had you chosen PGJ, the PowerShares Golden Dragon China ETF, at the start of the year, you would have lost more than 7% of your money. Had you instead chosen ASHR, the Deutsche Xtrackers Harvest CSI 300 China A-Shares ETF, you would have earned a 51% return. Both are “China ETFs.” Both can provide big, diversified portfolios. But ASHR has significant exposure to Chinese Ashares—largely consumer-focused stocks listed and traded on the domestic Chinese market— which performed spectacularly well in 2014. Don’t assume all ETFs are created equal. Just because two ETFs cover the same market doesn’t mean they provide the same exposure or returns. There’s no guarantee which fund will perform better in the future. But if you wanted to invest last year in the growth of the Chinese consumer and the domestic investor base there, a little bit of research would have gone a long way. Number 4: Trading…Just Because You Can Trading is central to ETFs. It’s right there in the name. But just because you can trade an ETF intraday doesn’t mean you should. Emotions are often an investor’s worst enemy. You zig when you should zag; you sell at the bottom and buy at the top. We all do sometimes. The trouble is ETFs make that even easier than traditional mutual funds. ETFs’ intraday liquidity can be great when you need to get into or out of the market quickly. But those situations are rare. Number 5: Only Using Market Orders When you do invest, consider using a limit order versus a market order. Market orders are instructions to buy or sell securities at the best possible price right now. That can work well for the most liquid ETFs, but as you move beyond the top dozen ETFs, you can find yourself getting trades executed at prices you don’t really want. Using a limit order means you agree to buy an ETF at a certain price or below, and sell it at a certain price or above. A limit order puts the control back in your hands and can help you set the price on your terms. Learn from these common mistakes to help avoid making them yourself. 6 Dividend Growth ETFs for Quality Market Exposure

04:15
ETF strategies that focus on elite dividend-paying companies can be a good way to enhance a portfolio and reduce one's risk exposure. "These are the securities that have consistently paid, well, increased the dividend for the last twenty-five consecutive years," Aye Soe, Managing Director, Global Research & Design, S&P Dow Jones Indices, said at Inside ETFs. "That's a very long time when you think about that, and that means that they are a special bunch with very solid balance sheets." For example, the ProShares S&P 500 Aristocrats ETF (BATS: NOBL), which tracks the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats Index, targets the cream of the crop, only selecting components that have increased their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years. Consequently, investors are left with a portfolio of high-quality, sustainable dividend payers as opposed to more high-yield focused funds that may contain companies on more precarious financial positions.

Is Dividend Yield Investing Thru ETFs Worth It

03:53
I recently received a great question from a client regarding the advisability of investing in high-dividend yielding ETFs. With these types of ETFs being made up of stocks from the utility and financial sectors, I find that the performance of the sectors determines more of the return than the yield itself. For more market insight, go to http://www.valentineventures.com The concept of high-dividend yielding ETFs and stocks is nice, but TOTAL RETURN is where an investor derives their result.

Foreign Withholding Tax

06:58
Important correction: In the video I say that the ETF XEC holds emerging markets stocks directly. That is false. It holds IEMG, which is a US listed ETF. The only Canadian listed ETF that holds emerging markets stocks directly is ZEM, though it also holds some US listed ETFs. ZEM also tracks an index that omits small cap stocks completely, making it potentially less desirable than the more diversified XEC. Global diversification is universally accepted as beneficial to investors, but foreign withholding tax is a tricky little detail that can eat into your investment returns. When a foreign company pays a dividend to a Canadian investor, the company’s home country will often impose a tax on the dividend. The amount of tax withheld by the foreign government depends on the arrangement between the two countries. ------------------ Foreign Withholding Taxes white paper: https://www.pwlcapital.com/pwl/media/pwl-media/PDF-files/White-Papers/2016-06-17_-Bender-Bortolotti_Foreign_Withholding_Taxes_Hyperlinked.pdf?ext=.pdf ------------------ Visit PWL Capital: https://goo.gl/uPcXg7 Follow PWL Capital on: - Twitter: https://twitter.com/PWLCapital - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PWLCapital - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company-beta/105673/ Follow Ben Felix on - Twitter: https://twitter.com/benjaminwfelix - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/benjaminwfelix/ ------------------ Video channel management, content strategy & production by Truly Inc. - Website: http://trulyinc.com - Twitter: https://twitter.com/trulyinc

BEST ETFs FOR 2018

09:57
🔥The Informed Investor: http://bit.ly/TheInformedInvestor1 - I Reveal My $100,000+ Stock Portfolio and Every Trade I Make! 🔥 These are the best ETFs for 2018! I chose these 4 ETFs as the best ETFs for 2018 is because they have produced excellent returns with low volatility. ETFs are a great way to get exposed to many stocks with one security, and they are usually less volatile than picking single stocks. ETFs are the way to go for investors who want to "set it and forget it". (VUG) VANGUARD GROWTH FUND - This is the single largest holding in my own personal portfoli - Give you exposure to 313 US large cap growth companies that are relatively stable - 1 year ROI = 24.27% vs. 17.93% SP 500 - 5 year ROI = 101.57% vs. 89.06% SP 500 - Top 10 Holdings = Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Alphabet (Google), Visa, Home Depot, Coca Cola, Comcast, Philip Morris - VUG holds a good mix of large cap growth companies with a solid 1.18% dividend yield make this a staple in my portfolio. (SPY) SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust - Launched in 1993, this is literally the oldest ETF in existence, and it’s been one of the most solid over the years. - The spider S&P 500 tracks all of the companies contained within...You guessed it… the S&P 500! - 1 year ROI = 18.05% - 5 year ROI = 89.61% - Top 10 holdings are Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Johnson & Johnson, Berkshire Hathaway, JP Morgan Chase, Exxon, Google, Bank of America - This is for investors who want just a little less volatility than you would get with a growth ETF like VUG - This is a great “set it and forget it" ETF that you just add to monthly (VYM) VANGUARD High Dividend Yield - Dividend-paying stocks tend to perform better, as a group, than non-dividend stocks, and also generally do better during tough economic times. - For investors who want exposure to rock-solid dividend stocks, but don't want the guesswork and risk involved with choosing individual stocks - Invests in 401 stocks that pay higher-than-average dividend yields, and specifically excludes REITs - 1 year ROI = 12.36% - 5 year ROI= 73.34% ARK ETF Trust - The ARK ETF is an actively-managed fund that focuses on companies working in next-generation sectors, like cloud computing and Big Data. It has a nice mixture of recognizable names, as well as lesser-known speculative companies. - BitCoin Investment Trust is the top holding in ARK, and this fund is banking heavily on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. While that may seem like an unnecessarily heavy risk, I believe could possibly pay off handsomely. - 1 year ROI = 85.34% - Since Oct 2014 = 139% - Top 10 holdings: bitcoin investment trust, amazon, athena health, twitter, tesla, 2U inc, netflix, nvidia, google, mercadolibre. Dividend ETFs That Help Investors Focus on Quality

04:16
Visit https://www.etftrends.com Income-minded investors have found quality investment exposure through dividend-growth exchange traded fund strategies that specifically target companies with a long track record of steadily raising payouts. For example, the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats Index acts as the underlying index for the popular ProShares S&P 500 Aristocrats ETF (BATS: NOBL) and is comprised of companies that have consecutively raised dividends for at least 25 years. "We take a very simple approach with dividend growth because it's all about finding quality companies. Screening for those who can increase their dividends every year, even in difficult financial times, gives you companies with strong balance sheets, strong franchises, good track record of growing earnings and even cash flow," Simeon Hyman, Head of Investment Strategy for Proshares, said at the recent Morningstar ETF Conference.

Cheap International Income With This Vanguard ETF

04:40
https://goo.gl/QPCkqk - Start earning with binary options like millions of traders do With over half the world's dividend payers found outside the U.S., investors can turn to a diversified crowd of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to bolster international income streams. One of the new entrants to the international dividend ETF field is the Vanguard International Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIGI). VIGI debuted in March 2016 as the international answer to the Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIG), the largest dividend ETF trading in the U.S. In just about a year and half on the market, VIGI has already established an enviable following. At the end of June, the ETF had almost $552 million in assets under management, easily making it one of the most successful ETFs to come to market last year. (See also: Yield Hungry? Consider Vanguard's Global Dividend ETFs.) VIGI represents a sensible, smart beta, cost-effective option for investors looking to add international equity and income diversity to their portfolios. The ETF's strategy screens for stocks with consistent long-term dividend growth and caps individual weights to reduce its exposure to stock-specific risks, said Morningstar in a new research piece. The fund invests in large- and mid-cap stocks from developed and emerging markets, and screens for those that have increased their dividend payments for seven consecutive years. The strategy applies additional filters that eliminate stocks which may not be able to sustain their dividend growth. Investors should note that VIGI is not a dedicated developed markets ETF. The fund features exposure to dividend stocks from 32 countries, nearly 22% of which are classified as emerging markets. Europe is the fund's largest geographic weight at over 45%. However, VIGI's overall geographic composition is relatively conservative. Switzerland, Canada and Japan – defensive developed markets – combine for over 40% of the ETF's weight. VIGI holds 245 stocks with a median market capitalization of $51.6 billion, indicating that this is a large-cap fund. The ETF's top 10 holdings combine for 32.5% of its roster. (See also: International Dividend Appreciation ETF Hits New 52-Week High.) Many foreign stocks tie their dividend payments to earnings. Therefore, companies that have a history of increasing their dividend payments are also likely to be those that have been consistently growing profitably. This fund's return on invested capital comes in at 17.3%, compared with 12.5% for the MSCI ACWI ex-USA Growth Index. It also lands in the top quintile of the foreign large-growth Morningstar Category, according to Morningstar. Over the past year, VIGI is up 13%, but that trails the MSCI ACWI ex-USA Index by a wide margin. However, the Vanguard ETF is cost effective, with an annual fee of 0.25%. That makes it cheaper than 77% of rival funds, according to issuer data. (See also: These International Dividend ETFs Are Cheap Cheap Cheap.)

Vanguard Launches 2 Dividend-Oriented International ETFs (VIGI, VYMI)

06:20
https://goo.gl/QPCkqk - Start earning with binary options like millions of traders do The Vanguard Group, the world’s second-largest provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has expanded its dividend and international offerings by launching the Vanguard International Dividend Appreciation ETF (NASDAQ: VIGI) and the Vanguard International High Dividend Yield ETF (NASDAQ: VYMI). Patterned after its highly popular U.S.-focused ETFs, the Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (NYSEARCA: VIG) and the Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF (NYSEARCA: VYM), the new funds will follow similar strategies for generating dividend income. The International Dividend Appreciation ETF will invest in companies of all capitalizations with a history of growing dividends, while the International High Dividend Yield ETF will focus on companies with high dividend yields. Both funds began trading in the first week of March 2016. The new funds, which are the first international ETFs Vanguard has launched since the Vanguard Total International Bond ETF (NASDAQ: BNDX) in May 2013, offer yield-seeking investors an additional slice of the index pie with targeted exposure in higher-yielding dividend stocks that are more prevalent in foreign countries. The yield from the MSCI EAFE Index, which tracks dividend-paying stocks in developed countries, is more than 100 basis points higher than the yield of the Standard & Poor's (S&P) 500 Index. However, the funds' entry into the global markets could be coming at a difficult time. Global stocks have struggled over the last couple of years in the face of a stronger U.S. dollar. Neither fund employs any currency hedging strategy, so they could experience the normal volatility associated with currency exchange. Some of the volatility is likely to be smoothed over due to the high dividend yield. The funds would be suitable as a supplement to a core holding of U.S. growth stocks. Vanguard International Dividend Appreciation Index ETF The Vanguard International Dividend Appreciation Index ETF is designed to track the performance and yield of the NASDAQ International Dividend Achievers Select Index. The index is made up of more than 200 small-, mid- and large-cap companies from developed and emerging markets. Like the the Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF, the fund focuses specifically on companies with a history of growing dividends. As of March 18, 2016, the fund had $10.66 million in assets under management (AUM) with half of its weighting split almost evenly between consumer defensive and health care companies. The top five holdings, which comprise 21% of the portfolio, are Tencent Holdings Ltd. (OTC: TCEHY), Roche Holding AG (OTC: RHHBY), Nestle SA (OTC: NSRGY), Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE: NVO) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NYSE: NTT). After its first full week of trading, the fund was up 1.14% as compared with the MSCI ACWI Ex USA NR USD Index, which was up 1.53%. The fund’s expense ratio is 0.25%. Its dividend yield will not be established until after it issues its first dividend. Vanguard

INVESTING TAXES EXPLAINED: Dividend Vs. Growth Investing

30:54
By subscriber request, today's video is my guide to taxes explained for investors. Over my 20+ years investing, I have picked up a wealth of knowledge on the taxation of investments. While I'm not a licensed tax advisor and today's video is not tax advice, I wanted to share my personal thoughts on the topic for dividend investors and growth investors alike. A continuation of my last video (dividend investing vs. growth investing), I want to illustrate via taxes why I personally prefer dividend investing, as it is a tax efficient vehicle (in my personal opinion). I start out with two examples, my recent short-term capital gain on my Bitcoin profit. And, my ownership in McDonald's (MCD), a long-term dividend growth stock, where I'm deferring capital gains (since I never plan to sell) and only have to worry about taxes on my qualified dividends (which fall into the long-term capital gains bucket). Some fun facts you'll learn from my Bitcoin illustration: * I earned 329% in less than a year on my Bitcoin position. * I was subject to short term capital gains. * There is no way I could have held longer (it still have not been 1 year and Bitcoin has fallen 50% from my average sale price). This, in a nutshell, is what plagues growth investors most. Some fun facts you'll learn from my McDonald’s illustration: * I am up 116% via capital appreciation, but owe no taxes right now since I don't intend to sell. (Taxes are only due if one were to sell.) * I enjoy a 5.5% yield on cost (and growing). My dividends are taxed at the lower long-term capital gains tax rate. * Dividend income is taxed at a lower rate than income earned from working! I am incentivized to earn passive vs. active income. For someone looking to live off dividends, this is why I believe dividends are so tax efficient. After my two examples, I dive into a variety of tax-related topics (for investors of all sorts): * Capital appreciation * Dividends * Short-term capital gains * Long-term capital gains * The 3.8% Medicare tax (Obamacare tax) * Qualified dividends vs. non-qualified dividends * Federal vs. state taxes * International companies (and tax implications) * Tax-advantaged vs. non-tax-advantaged accounts (401k and Roth IRA) * More! Want to lean more about dividend stocks vs. growth stocks? Check out this recent video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El7XyomoAEI Want to learn about my experience with Bitcoin? Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAQHg6ag7jU Here's my #3 favorite dividend stock of all time, McDonald's (MCD): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA1baKYgV_0 Here's my real estate investment trust (REIT) that is a non-qualified dividend, Realty Income: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-ANUrAsqMc Disclosure: I am long McDonald's (ticker MCD) and Realty Income (ticker O). I own both of these stocks in my portfolio. Disclaimer: I'm not a licensed investment advisor, and today's video is just for entertainment and fun. This video is NOT investment advice. How ETF Investors Can Diversify in International Markets

02:53
Many investors have a home country bias, and an easy way to diversify their portfolios is to look to overseas markets and international ETFs. "Do you want to basically take one small step into a country that you really like? Do you want to take a little bigger step - regional. But as you look at the volatility in this market, lots of opportunity," Pierre Caramazza, Head of ETF Distribution for Franklin Templeton, said at the 2018 Morningstar Investment Conference. For example, Franklin Templeton’s smart beta ETF suite includes Franklin LibertyQ International Equity Hedged ETF (NYSEArca: FLQH), Franklin LibertyQ Emerging Markets ETF (NYSEArca: FLQE), Franklin LibertyQ Global Dividend ETF (NYSEArca: FLQG) and Franklin LibertyQ Global Equity ETF (NYSEArca: FLQD).
